The AI Audit is a free written review of the software you run your contracting business on, AI or not. We check four things: whether anything reaches a customer without your OK, whether every action is logged, whether you hold a copy of your data, and whether you can export it and leave. You get a yes, no or "partly" for each tool, plus what to fix first.
The four checks
We hold your current setup to four standards. For each one, you get a yes, a no, or a "partly" with the reason.
- You approve every draft before it goes out. Can a tool text or email a customer, or quote a price, without you reading it first?
- Every action is logged. When a message is sent, a lead is updated or a job changes, is there a record of what happened, when, and who or what did it?
- Your data stays on your own machine. Do you know where your customer list, job history and numbers are stored, and do you hold a copy you control?
- You can export it all and leave any time. If you cancel tomorrow, can you take your customers, jobs and history with you in a file you can open?
Where to start
No AI yet? Good. You can start in the right order. Here is the order we would use for a contractor shop.
- Write down where calls and leads get lost today. Missed calls after hours, voicemails nobody returns, web forms that sit in an inbox. Put it on paper before you buy anything.
- Pick one repeat task to start with. Answering missed calls, booking estimates or sending follow-ups. One task, not five.
- Keep a person approving anything sent to customers. The tool writes the draft. You or someone on your team reads it and hits send.
- Make sure you can get your data out. Before you sign up, ask how to export your customers and history to a file you can open.
- Try one tool for two weeks before adding more. Use it on real calls and jobs, then decide to keep it or drop it.
- Measure one number before and after. Pick one, such as calls missed per week or estimates booked, and write it down before you start.
